What we believe

Rooted in Scripture. Focused on Jesus.

The Church is a General Baptist congregation. These convictions shape our worship, our teaching, and our life together.

• God. There is only one true, living, and eternal God, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• The Bible. The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired and infallible Word of God and the only reliable guide of Christian faith and conduct.
• Man. God created man in His image to bring Him honor through obedience. Through disobedience we became fallen and sinful, unable to save ourselves.
• Salvation. Salvation has been provided for all through the life, death, resurrection, ascension, and intercession of Jesus Christ, received by repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.
• Assurance and endurance. Abiding in Christ provides assurance of salvation. Christians retain freedom of choice and can turn away from God.
• The Church. The Church Universal is the Body of Christ. A local church is a fellowship of Christians banded together for worship, nurture, and service.
• Ordinances. Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, observed by Christians. Feetwashing is left to the individual and is not a bar to fellowship.
• The Lord’s Day. We observe the first day of the week by worshiping God, witnessing for Christ, and ministering to needs.
• Christian duties. Serve through the local church, pray, witness, show loving kindness, give as God prospers, and live to bring glory to God.
